Non-repayable loan of 40% (and 60% at subsidized rate):Puglia Region fully finances the energy efficiency of SMEs

The Puglia Region, with the recent publication of the tender in accordance with Titoilo VI "Aid for the protection of the environment", finances 100% energy efficiency measures for SMEs.

This is a very strong subsidy that provides for an important portion of non-repayable loan (40%), a portion (30%) of interest-free financing and the residual portion (30%) at a subsidized rate and risk sharing that improves the bankability of projects.

The funds made available by the Puglia Region amount to 60 million euros.

STRUCTURE OF THE LOAN

Specifically, the subsidy consists of:

• a non-repayable loan equal to 40% in plant account on investments
• a loan equal to 60% with risk sharing (30% at zero interest paid by the Energy Efficiency Fund of the Puglia Region and 30% by the financing bank)

Thanks to the large amount of non-repayable financing, the recovery times of investments for energy efficiency interventions already very short, become even faster (less than 3 years for most interventions including in particular photovoltaics).

INIZIATIVES SUBJECT TO FACILITIES

The interventions include:

• Energy efficiency
• Cogeneration at high efficiency
• Production of energy from renewable sources ( photovoltaics, wind energy, solar thermal ecc.) up to a maximum of 70% of the average energy consumed in the last 3 years and in any case up to the limit of 500 kW of power.

BENEFICIARIES

Companies with operational offices in the Puglia Region can apply:

• Micro companies
• Small companies
• Medium-sized companies

Investment projects must provide for an expense of not less than Euro 80,000 per local unit and achieve energy savings of at least 10% of the local unit being invested.

Eligible sectors include:

• Manufacturing activities
• Waste treatment and disposal activities
• Buildings
• Wholesale and retail trade
• Transport and storage
• Tourist and restaurant activities
• Activities of information and communication services
• Cinema and communication activities
• Software production and other information services
• Business service activities
• Health and social assistance
• Arts, sports and entertainment activities
• Repair of goods and services for the person.

The fishing, shipbuilding, coal and steel industry, and their transformation of synthetic fibers, primary production of agricultural products are excluded from the subsidies.

TERMS FOR SUBMITTING APPLICATIONS

Loan applications can be submitted starting from 19/09/2017 to a Bank or Confidi affiliated with the Puglia Region.
